I was very pleased to visit a constituent recently who has benefited from a new gas boiler and draughtproofing - work which was carried out under the government's Warm Front Scheme

Mr Spencer Muirhead was very welcoming and showed me his new heating system, and I was also able to meet the Warm Front Scheme Manager, from eaga plc to discuss the success of this scheme in Lewisham East.

Over 1,500 households in my constituency have been helped by the scheme - a total spend of £1,285.310 .

• Warm Front combats fuel poverty by installing heating and insulation measures into the homes of vulnerable and has been running for 6 years. To qualify, householders need to own their own home or rent from a private landlord, and they also need to be in receipt of an income or disability related benefit
